Valentine’s Day scavenger hunt for kids
Valentine’s Day is right around the corner! Time to do fun activities with the kids, like this Valentine’s Day scavenger hunt for kids!
I’m a HUGE sucker for holidays of any kind, and I love that my kids get into it, too.
My 2-year-old is a busy, busy girl. We always say she has two speeds: running and sleeping. I’m always looking for ways to keep her mind (and feet!) busy, and this Valentine’s Day Scavenger hunt did the trick!
There’s something exciting about finding things in unexpected places. And it was so funny to watch her search high and low for something right in front of her face! We had lots of giggles running around the living room to find things that fit our list.
So much of Valentine’s Day is surrounded by sweets, chocolate, and sugar (and don’t get me wrong, we certainly get our fair share), but it was nice to do something on “theme” together that didn’t involve junk food.
Here in New York, everything is gray and cold. Going outside for long is just not an option with a baby! And my poor 2 year old is always saying, “I just need to run, mama!”
This activity helped get some energy out indoors, while still sparking her curiosity and need for fun!

Get your free printable for this Valentine’s Day scavenger hunt here! The front page is the official scavenger hunt, and the second page is a few things you can cut out to hide. I made it this way so that it would require minimal effort on your part, and also make cleanup easy! (I’m here for you, mama!)
Suggestions for fun hiding spots
- Windows (it was so funny to see her looking out the window without realizing the item was right next to her!)
- Cupboards and drawers
- The toy box
- The stairs
- The pantry
- The floor
Have fun and get creative! Even things in plain sight were difficult for her to find.
I hope your kids love it as much as mine did! Hopefully, you get a full 30 minutes of fun and good behavior from it. And you can do it over and over again until they are tired and ready for a nap. It’s the perfect activity!
Have a LOVELY Valentine’s Day mama. Cheers!
